How to resize and move partitions without deleting or reformatting
There are several ways to start Move/Resize operation:
- Right-click the partition you would like to move or resize and select "Resize".
- Select the partition, click "Partition" in the top menu > click "Resize".
- Select the partition, click the "Resize" button on the Toolbar.
- Select the partition, click the "Resize/Move Partition" button under "Partition Operations" in the Action Panel.
How to resize/move partitions to extend system partition?
Case1: There is enough free space in the data partition that nexts to the system partition. In this condition, you just need to shrink this data partition to get some Unallocated space, and then extend the system partition.
Case2: There is no free space in the data partition that nexts to the system partition, you need to Resize and Move partitions.
Step 1: Select Partition D, drag the left border rightwards to shrink it, after that, the Unallocated space will be created behind the system C drive.
Step 2: Select drive C, you'll see the Unallocated space that is displayed at the end of drive C, drag the right border rightwards to hold the Unallocated space.
Step 3: After step 2, the Unallocated space that shrank from partition D has added to drive C, click Apply to proceed.
Case 2: Resize and move partitions
Step 1: Select drive E, drag the left border rightwards to shrink it, after that, the Unallocated space is created behind drive D.
Step 2: Select drive D and put the mouse pointer at the central position, drag rightwards to move partition D.
Step 3: After moving partition D to the end, the Unallocated space is behind the system C drive now. Drag the left border rightwards to hold this Unallocated space.
After step 3, the Unallocated space shrank from drive E is added to drive C, click Apply button to proceed.
